I am 33, love of my life is 39. We are challenged with Male Infertility.
Growing up as a pseudo-only-child (my sisters were much older than me), I’ve always envisioned having a large family. Well, as life happens, I found myself pregnant my senior year in high school with a beautiful baby boy. A year later, we married and had a 2nd child. Then we split. While raising my 2 children, I finally got to the point where I could start taking charge, so to speak. Instead of dealing with issues as they come, I could plan ahead, set goals, and accomplish them! I met my other half 5 years ago and we married last year. Right away we knew we wanted to start having children.. haha.. if it were only that easy.. Now over a year into it, the only thing planned about trying to have children is the schedule of medication, shots, and follow-up appointments.
Now with 2 healthy, happy teenage boys growing up so quickly, I’ve started to realize our big family will now have to include pets and shoes…
We are seeing a highly recommended RE in our location. I have personally seen success stories among friends and coworkers.
Though we’re over a year into this, I still feel like I’m a newbie. I don’t know all the acronyms and I don’t know all the terms.. But here’s a bit of what we’ve been through:
November 2011: First appointment, blood tests, HSG (cleared one tube), all normal, Femara + Timed Intercourse
December 2011: Femara + Timed Intercourse
Jan/Feb 2012: Femara + IUI
Feb/Mar 2012: Femara + IUI
Mar/Apr 2012: Femara + Timed Intercourse (Travelling)
Apr/May 2012: No Meds + IUI (Ovarian Cysts)

June 2012: Femara + Ovidrel + IUI + Progesterone
July 2012: Femara + Ovidrel + IUI + Progesterone
August 2012: Birth Control (getting ready for IVF) bled ALL month
Aug/Sept 2012: Chinese Medicine + Prayer + Au Naturale
Sept/Oct 2012: First Modified Natural IVF (Fingers Crossed) Taking a break for the holiday season.
Jan 2014: After a year-long break, we’ve decided to give it another go. Final IVF Consultation/HSG
Feb 2014: Birth Control, Stims, Egg Retrieval 13 Eggs, 4 Frozen, no transfer, prep for FET
Apr 2014: FET (Transfer) BFP!
Thank you for sharing, my husband and I just started our journey down the fertility treatment path. Wishing you nothing but the best.

Hey! I was reading my friend of a friends blog and thought of you! She has an ebook that I started to read and am going to get because its on sale until Thanksgiving… anyway it is her story with infertility and how God is working in her life. I thought you might want to check it out as she has been a great source of encouragement to me. Hope you like it!! Take care and have a very happy holiday taking a break and just being!
